In 2024, Baden-Badener Christkindelsmarkt , the Christmas market of Baden-Baden takes place from 21 November 2024 to 6 January 2025 , daily from 11:00 to 21:00. And also on 24 and 31 December from 11:00 to 15:00 and 1 January from 13:00 to 21:00.

We visited the Christmas market in Baden-Baden in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany and it was a pleasant surprise.

The city of Baden-Baden is well known for its luxury, whether it’s the Kürhaus casino , Germany’s largest opera house Festspielhaus or the designer stores in its shopping center.

How to get to Baden-Baden

The city of Baden-Baden is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg, in southwestern Germany, close to cities such as Karlsruhe and Heidelberg. However, if we consider more well-known places, it is not so close, for example Stuttgart (110 km), Frankfurt (170 km), Munich (330 km) or even the distant Berlin (709 km).

In any case, German roads are very easy to drive and there are also several train options. This makes the journey much easier.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Badischer Hof Hotel to enjoy a weekend in the city. The hotel is very well located, very close to the tourist attractions of Baden-Baden and also offers good facilities for relaxation, including a gigantic heated pool with indoor and outdoor areas.

Visiting the Baden-Baden Christmas Market in Germany

The Baden-Baden Christmas Market is located in the beautiful park in Kürhaus and follows the traditional format of the Weihnachtsmärkte , the German Christmas festivities. It offers a variety of stalls selling crafts and souvenirs to buy as gifts or souvenirs.

And also traditional food and drink options, such as Glühwein , the German mulled wine, Bratwürste , the famous German sausage, Langos , a Hungarian fried dough topped with cheese, garlic paste, among other delicacies. As you can see, we had a great time! 😀

One thing we loved was the decoration with pages from a winter fairy tale, including the title in several languages. Olivia had fun looking for the page in Portuguese. Another attraction was the exhibition of several nativity scenes in the entrance hall of the Trinkhalle , the spa complex and also where the city’s tourist office is located. There you can also see several paintings and Roman columns.

And finally, take a family photo in front of the 15-meter Christmas tree at the Baden-Baden Christmas market, one of the largest in the region.

We didn’t go this time because we focused on the Christmas market, but the Löwenbräu brewery is also beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. A good option for eating and drinking traditional Bavarian beers.
