And we finally got to travel to Disneyland Paris to experience the magic of Disney Christmas!

Going to Disney is not a cheap trip, so legal planning is necessary to avoid going broke with Mickey Mouse & company.

When I started working on preparing for the Christmas trip to Disneyland Paris, I did a lot of cost-benefit calculations. Depending on the season, the price varies a lot, so it’s good to pay attention to what the official Disney website has to offer.

[Update] How will Christmas be at Disneyland Paris in 2024

Disneyland Paris parks have already released the schedule of how Christmas will be celebrated:

• You can experience the wonders of Christmas from November 9, 2024 through March 16, 2025 at Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.
• The parade has been completely redecorated and is called “Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade“.
• The big news this year is the big Christmas Tree that was decorated in the Town Square and where the light show called ” Magical Christmas Tree Lighting“.
• Get into the Christmas spirit and sing along with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy in the magical “Let’s Sing Christmas “.
• The Disney Village will have a Christmas Market and Christmas attractions in its show restaurants.
• Santa Claus has to return to the North Pole to prepare for next Christmas, so he will only be at Disneyland Paris until December 25th.

And until December 25, 2024, you can find Disney characters in Christmas outfits as well as Santa Claus himself.

Accommodation at Disneyland Resort Paris

On our first trip to Disney Paris, the former EuroDisney, it was cheaper to buy everything separately (Online Tickets + Hotel by Booking.com) than taking a complete package from Disney. On the next trip, the package offered on the Disneyland Paris website was cheaper, so the golden rule is research, research and research.

Usually the Disneyland Paris website has package deals with up to 25% off, the early reservation and even free children when you have two paying adults. Worth keeping an eye on.

The package that I think is ideal is the 3 days in the park + 2 nights in the hotel + half board. The parks are relatively small when compared to Disney Orlando in the US, so you can enjoy them in that time without much stress. Note that in the packages offered there are several categories of hotels and extra services, which will vary the final price. However, the basic package is a good size, you can trust it.

The hotel we stayed at was the Cheyenne, which at the time was undergoing a massive renovation, but surprisingly it didn’t affect our experience at all. The Cheyenne hotel has a Toy Story theme and the room was all beautiful with Woody, Pé de pano, Jessy and a heating that I wish I had at home.

Disneyland Paris meal package

As the package included half board, we thought that the food would be the horror, the horror… but we bit our tongue and were amazed at the variety and quality on offer.

A nice thing about the meal package is that you can use the voucher to pay for extra or special meals, like breakfast with Disney characters or a meal with the princesses at the Auberge de Cendrillon.

This time we chose breakfast with Disney characters at Plaza Gardens Restaurant and paid the difference on the spot.

Oh! For those who have the meal plan, the chosen restaurants must be booked by phone 1 month in advance.

The breakfast at Plaza Gardens with Disney characters was really cool! It ended up exceeding expectations. Coffee is served as a buffet, which is very filling. At a certain point the characters, Mickey and co, begin to arrive and go from table to table to talk to the little ones.

It’s fast, but you can take several pictures and enjoy a little bit of each character. The little girl’s happy face is worth every cent paid!

Facility of the Disney Paris complex

Like any Disney complex, to get to and from the hotel there are shuttles leaving directly from the Marne la Vallée train station and from the station to the hotel it takes only 5 minutes. You can walk too, it’s only 15 minutes.

Another benefit of staying at a Disney hotel is that you have access to the parks before they open to the general public, making it easier to get Fast Passes that are very useful to enjoy all the rides and attractions.

Speaking of Fast Pass, Disneyland Paris owner gave us 3 VIP Fast Pass, which gives you the right to go to the rides without having to book a specific time, as many times as you want.

With our VIP Fast Pass, we went to the most popular rides without worrying about time or anything, we just had to show the pass and that was it and the best, it was valid for the three days of the park. It went really well! Thanks Miss Disney!

I went to check if you can buy when the package is closed, but I saw that the VIP is only given to certain types of rooms for guests staying at Disneyland Hotel, the main hotel in the complex.

Magical Christmas experience Disneyland Paris

At Christmas time, the park is decorated with lights and Christmas trees, including the statues of the characters themselves.

In this period, the parades and presentations are also in the theme of the holidays with Mickey and his friends in costumes, including the presence of Santa Claus himself. The parade is even called “Disney’s Christmas Parade” and takes place twice a day.

One performance that Olivinha loved was the performance of “Frozen Sing-Along”. Even though the show was in French, she loved it and sang along with Elsa, Anna and Olaf.

Our Disney Christmas experience was magical, making us want to repeat it every year. But now we want to go in a nicer climate, like summer or even the autumn breeze during the not so soopky Halloween festivities.
