Bacharach is a cute little town on the banks of the Rhine in the state Rheinland-Pfalz, which is one of the most wooded in Germany. We decided to visit it because I wanted to see the city on the cover of the Lonely Planet Germany guide that I had bought. It’s… Crazy, I know. 😛

Itinerary-tour with things to visit in the city of Bacharach in Germany
The town of Bacharach, like many others in the river region Reno, has its well-preserved historic center as the main tourist attraction and around it, several plantations, walks and wine tourism options.
On the way to the city, we saw several wine cellars, or in German Weingut, scattered along the road and, even very close to the entrance to the city, there is a huge one. We didn’t visit any, as the focus was another, but those who enjoy it have options to choose from.
We parked the car in a parking lot on the banks of the Rhine and from there we crossed the highway to get to the city center.
The center of Bacharach is very cute, with half-timbered houses and restaurants with tables on the sidewalk. The main attraction in the center is the Altes Haus, a house built in 1368.
We followed the signs and took a small trail that leads to a tower, the Postenturm, which is right in the middle of the vineyard and gives beautiful views of the city with the Rhine River in the background.
After taking millions of photos, let’s start our return to the city center. And on that turn, we deviated from the main street and we had a big surprise when passing through the parallel street, it’s too cute!
Little white houses, a beautiful stream, mountains on one side and vineyards on the other with a beautiful sunset. Who doesn’t like that?
As it was already late in the day, we ended up not doing a small trail that leads to a ruin of the church Wernerkapelle and the town’s castle, the Burg Stahleck, which today operates as a hostel.
But that’s ok, because the view from afar is very beautiful!
We didn’t walk far, but to make up for it… we stopped at a pizzeria! 😛 We killed Genoveva’s hunger with a delicious pizza, close to the church Pfarrkirche St. Peter, to round off a good day out.
