The Weihnachtsmarkt Dörfli im Niederdorf Zürich, Zurich’s oldest Christmas market, is located in the heart of the Old Town’s Niederdorf district.

There are several stalls that offer gifts, Christmas products, decoration, handicrafts, as well as, of course, food and beverage options.

Another attraction of this Christmas market is that it is held in the small, pedestrian-only cobbled streets. A real Christmas maze to be explored by all visitors.

The Zürcher Christkindlimarkt im Hauptbahnhof, the Christmas market held at the Zurich Main Railway Station, is one of the largest covered Christmas markets in Europe.

There are more than 100 stalls that welcome travelers with Christmas products, food and drinks. In addition to the immense and wonderful Christmas tree decorated with several Swarovski crystals rich in their brilliant lights.

Christmas Village (“Wienachtsdorf”) Zurich at Sechseläutenplatz

The Wienachtsdorf auf dem Sechseläutenplatz is the biggest Christmas market in Zurich. It is located next to Lake Zurich, on Sechseläutenplatz, opposite the Zurich Opera House.

Its more than 100 stalls offer Christmas food and drinks, handicrafts and decoration for all visitors. It is also possible to have fun on an ice skating rink.

Be sure to try Swiss Fondue, Raclette and also lots of Glühwein.

Another attraction of this Christmas market is the schedule of performances of the “Opera House Christmas Advent Musical Calendar”.

Singing Christmas Tree and the Christmas Market in Zurich

The Singing Christmas Tree and the Weihnachtsmarkt are located on Werdmühleplatz next to Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. During the Advent period, choirs are performed daily with Christmas songs on a vertical stage shaped like a huge Christmas tree.

Be sure to visit the nearby “Lucy Christmas Lights” (named after the song “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” by The Beatles) along Bahnhofstrasse.

Münsterhof Christmas Market in Zurich
